Sony will be releasing the “DVP-F35P” vertical-standing DVD player on October 15th in Japan, which includes among other things, MP3 playback. Of course this has nothing to do with the company’s announcement a couple weeks ago that they would be including MP3 support in their portable audio players – because this isn’t a portable audio player.
Still, I liked the style, progressive output support, MP3 and JPEG playback, and particularly, price of this player. I haven’t really been keeping up with my Sony DVD players as much as I should be, but 17,000 yen (about $150 USD) doesn’t seem all that bad. Err, come to think of it, you can buy DVD players with the same junk for $40 now, so maybe it is. You be the judge, because I’m feeble-minded and milquetoast.
