Though it’s not a pocketable as the DCR-PC350 we talked about a couple weeks ago, Sony has released another videocamera with similar specs (the 3.31-megapixel CCD is the big seller here, so it can do double-duty as a decent photo camera, too). The DCR-HC88 weighs a little more and has a little more junk in the trunk, but can be had for about three-quarters of the price of its little brother, which pans out to be somewhere in the $1000 range. I’m sure you don’t get the fancy base station of the PC350, either, but you’re cheap, so it’s about time you learned to suck it up.
