I’m glad Rio is actually going to push their new 5GB hard disk-based Carbon player a bit instead of just letting it languish in the market – it looks like a pretty solid product (I haven’t used it yet). To that end, they’re running a special promotion for the first 500 people to order the new $250 player that includes a custom-engraved, numbered back, a free shipping upgrade to 2 day air, and a 3 month/20 track download option from Napster. Oh, and lest we forget, a limited edition collectors box that looks suspiciously like someone else’s. It might not be enough to sway undecided purchasers, but if you were already leaning that way, might as well give it a whirl.
