Opera’s TVR Browser for Televsions

Opera has developed a new tech for their webbrowser they’re calling “TVR,” an optimized output designed to render web pages more legible on TVs and other lower resolution devices. And while that sounds really useful, in the press release they mention their intentions to promote the technology to vendors of set-top technology. That’s too bad – it would be a nice way to promote their browser to the thousands of home theater PC enthusiasts who sometimes use their giant TV displays as monitors. I’ve asked Opera if they have any plans to add the service to the free or pay version of their browser – hopefully we’ll hear back with something positive.
