I don't like it. Looks like it'd be way too easy to break, and if you're on of those people who hits the alarm clock with the first thing you can grab in the morning, I doubt it would last real long. I once grabbed my cell phone in a haze and smashed the alarm clock with it. Not only did I break the alarm clock, I broke the phone too.

Since then I try to keep the alarm clock out of arms reach, that's been working out well.

I like it. Mainly because the alarm clock is an everyday, usable feature.

The realistic future or robots in our lives is not as a toy or as a "friend/pet"... it's as helpers in everyday life. Using it as an alarm clock is a fairly simple task, but a start none-the-less.

Let this thing roam around on your floor and wake you up every morning. Sweet.

I can't believe no one has suggested that Jason put this down his pants.

Who remembers Petsters? Those weird robots that looked sort of like animals and responded to commands...the most popular models were the cat and the hamster. But there was also a spider. I always wanted the spider myself. If I ever find one, I'm totally buying it.

If the snake would be longer it could drive off the edge of a table without falling, but at its current size I'll doubt it would survive that.

In my experience with WowWee Toys, they tend to employ cheap, loud motors. They have poor sound quality, poor overall performance, and annoying so-called "personalities" that have forced me in the case of the Robosapien to remove his internal speaker completely. My Robosapien 2 had a servo catch fire while he was poorly executing a bowling manuever. Our Robopet stopped working properly within weeks. Most of their products are a pain to get out of the package, and burn through batteries fairly quickly (except for the original Robosapien.)

That said, when can I buy one of those Robo-Panda's???

The word from Mark Tilden is that it can raise itself to almost a full meter of height. I can't say for sure if that means it will be able to get off the couch, but it is promising.
