Also note that the EPAs ratings for this vehicle are off by about 40%. Consumer Reports did a study on this. A little googling should turn it up. the today show reported on it as well.

" Dude, what are you talking about, its one of the coolest signature parts of the Gizmodo video reviews. Corydorf: Cars dont have souls. I see what youre saying, but some of us want an efficient, cheap car to get us from A to B. BTW, I thought the innards of the civic were pretty cool.

I'm the kind of Car snob who knows that current hybrids are much worse for the enviroment than gas powered ones. I don't drive the nicest car, but I want my cars to be fun to drive, have an engine and more than a little pep in them. I like cars with souls. And let me tell you, Civics are the most boring, uninspired and blandest excuse for a car i've yet driven (except maybe a camry) I'll take a car with a few problems and some days in the shop that I can have fun driving over automotive tofu anyday.

Scalz- Thanks for the clarification... I TOTALLY didn't hear anything about those! Behind the times I guess! corydorf- It may "just be a Civic" but the Civic (the regular, non-hybrid version) also happens to be the second-most fuel-efficient car out on the market (second only from Toyota's Corolla).

Honda has had a Civic Hybrid for 4 years already - along with an Accord Hybrid. This is the next gernation model; new body styling, revised interior and updated hybrid system. I am sure what you saw was a regular, production model - not a prototype. Corydorf: no offense, but what kind of car snob are you? I like fancy, upscale cars, but when it comes to hybrid technology, this is one of the newest to talk about. Very appropriate for Gizmodo.

I was just looking at these a few days ago to replace my '97 Sentra. I think the price is great for what you're getting, and the resale value is going to hold strong. Still... a bit out of my fresh out of college, excited to be making rent range. The viedo reviews are getting much better guys... but please stop being surprised to see us... p p p pwease.

How weird that you guys posted this today. Just yesterday, I was on the 405 freeway (CA), and noticed a white Civic that actually had a metal label that said "Hybrid" on the back, right-side ("Civic" was on the left). It raised a question mark in my head because I swore I hadn't heard anything about them doing one. I wonder if the one that I saw was some kind of test prototype? It really didn't seem like a fake, being that the "Hybrid" label was in the same format as the "Civic" branding. Of course, being that I was on a freeway, following it, I only got ot see the back of it...

I also want to see the iPod/MP3 connector. I've read about it and heard about it, but have never seen it in use. I wonder if there's any interface on the screen, or if it is simply just an input jack. Nice review though, glad I have my headphones so I could listen at work!

This GPS is the same one in the more expensive Acura my friend has. It is really nice. He has an older model without that cool flip screen or the voice activation. But the touch screen interface and error correction is quick. What I really want to see is a GPS flash card so I can save my data should I sell/crash etc the car. That would be nice. Review wise, nice job Charlie. I like that you got out in the car. I would hope you could improve your audio of the engine in future auto reviews, especially for this unique motor.
