Discovery Venus Fly Trap Robot Swallows Bugs Alive
Sure, it's an easy enough thing to find a Little Shop of Horrors plant robot that snaps shut to kill bugs, then burp comedically. But how about a bionic Venus Fly Trap that lures insects, detects them with its hidden motion detectors, then gulps them down whole and alive? The bugs fall into the clear containment chamber, which you can decorate with mementos to keep the bugs from getting too homesick, such as a stick, a leaf and maybe a piece of cheese or celery. Doing this, the Discovery Channel Store explains, allows you to "discover a world of fascinating discoveries." And yes, they do take the Discover card. Jetpacks, the invention we've all been waiting to become a reality for as long as we can remember (along with flying cars and teleporters), are pretty much a reality at this point. While a few months ago the only two commercially available jetpacks had paltry flying times of about 30 seconds, Jet Pack International is releasing a new model early next year that'll let potential pilots take to the skies for a generous 19 minutes. Epos Digital Pen Wirelessly Turns Your Scrawls Into Editable Text
Write or draw whatever you want, and this Epos Digital Pen wirelessly transmits that data in real time to its included USB flash drive that you clip onto the paper you're using. Plug the USB drive into a PC and transfer the data, and then your writings can be converted to text using any handwriting recognition software. There's no pricing yet, but the company says this improved version of this digital pen, which trusted reviewer from CrunchGear Peter Ha says is "worth the wait," will be available sometime next year, maybe even by CES in January. i-Fly Vamp Ornithopter Is Both Goofy and Frightening
I'm not afraid of bats and low-flying birds, but Interactive Toy's i-Fly Vamp R/C Ornithopter really creeps me out with all its fluttering and swooping. The toy will retail for $40 to $50 when it comes to the US in November, unfortunately just a tad too late for Halloween. –Video by Richard Blakeley [Interactive Toy]Megatech's Hydro-Fly Is Not For Kids
Megatech's RC Hydro-Fly is a spectacular, land crawling, water skimming, sexy red, flying wonder toy. That's right, it does everything Batman can and more! The multi-tasking marvel, which would make your girlfriend's multitasking abilities look definitively lame, has an impressive 1000ft range. The body is constructed from durable Polynyolene, with high-torque motors giving the Hydro-Fly some serious oomph.

Embotec Magnet Keyboard Floats Keys
Embotec has just revealed a new concept keyboard that breaks the mold of traditional typing devices, accepting the crush of our fingers with either a spring or rubber base. Instead, the Magnet Keyboard levitates the keys from the board, and regulates the levitation through electromagnetism. More »DJs Do Battle Using LeapFrog Fly Fusion Pens
OK, so maybe it's a friendly battle, but a test of mad skillz nonetheless, one that went down at San Francisco's Shine nightclub not long ago. Every notebook that comes with the $80 LeapFrog Fly Fusion pen has this music-making console on the back, so you too can lay some breaks and beats yourself when it goes on sale next week. Perhaps they'll be even better than these cats—you never know. OK, yes, probably way better. Know what? I think I smell a LeapFrog Fusion Fly Pen DJ Battlemodo a-brewin'. [LeapFrog]

This remote controlled car looks like a little Moller Skycar for a reason. It zooms over grass, concrete, and dirt. But at 20MPH, it goes airborne. Whoosh! During flight, the vehicle can reach heights of 20 stories at 30MPH. And the racer only costs 60 bucks (plus $20 for a rechargeable battery that'll last 10 minutes). Like Doc Brown said, "Where we're going, we don't need roads." More »

CES Unveiled: IPEVO Fly-1 Skype Phone
IPEVO, the bastard consumer electronics offspring of the Taiwanese Internet portal PChome, showed off its Skype-friendly cordless handset and speakerphone at CES Unveiled this evening. This is one of many products Skype is showing off in its bid to move out of the PC and into that tangle of cables I call a desk. Great form factor in this angled USB "Fly-1" cordless handset that also has a speakerphone and is Windows and Mac compatible. The X-shaped "Xing" USB teleconferencing phone has four speakers—but no telling the sound quality of this thing because of the noisy room. Great looking, though. Available Q1.
