"@Dearhaw: that's because apple products are sold at a very high surplus compared to other hardware to begin with. most apple products are sold with a huge profit margin and lowering the price of a product by 20% after a period of time doesn't lower that margin much; if it even lowers it at all, as manufacturing costs decrease."
