"My experience tells me that skipping backup makes the sync much faster, and that when you get a new phone or need to use your backup, iTunes fucks it up and says it's unusable anyway..."
"Or, in the real world, the phone is interacting with things not normally in a test chamber, such as heads, bodies, hands, mountains, hills, houses, skyscrapers?
I bet it's the way the iPhone's software deals with the signal, rather than the signal or antenna..."
"I'm sure the biggest issue is the phone's 3G reception, and it's inability to hand-off to a 2G network successfully.
In Japan, they have no 3G network, so they are a great test-bed for 3G connectivity."
"In Blackberry's defense, if they would have used a iPhone 3G, the iPhone would have probably drained its battery before downloading the first page, or Safari would have crashed, or the phone would have crashed, or 3G would have disconnected from bad reception and completely screwed up the WiFi connection, or the bluetooth would have caused the WiFi not to work....
I'm just sayin'"
"Mine said NO SERVICE when I updated and turned 3G on, but I restarted the phone and it's been working as it did in the past (no 3G reception hardly anywhere).
So, basically, the phone behaves as it did on July 11th when I bought it, and no updates have cured the issues."
