That's exactly what this Vok "Multimedia Fireplace" is, coming loaded up with a TV up to 52-inches in size, a DVD player and a Bose sound system. Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose. Depending on the size of the TV included, this bad boy will run you somewhere between $36,950 and $45,640. [Product Page via New Launches]

<![CDATA[ Spykee the Skype Robot Gets Three Friends With iPod Dock Crotches ]]> Spykee, the built-it-yourself Skype robot, just got three different models that you can build him into—one of which is a her. We've got the first images of the Spykee Cell, Spykee Vox and Spykee Miss, all of which have a video camera, MP3 player, VoIP phone, microphone, loudspeaker, motors, and the ability to shove an iPod into its crotch. The best thing about this guy is that you can control him from anywhere in the internet. Well, maybe that'd be the second best thing—the first best is still the fact that he has an iPod where his junk should be. Get yours from Erector. [Erector]

<![CDATA[ HTC Officializes Vox-Sequel S730 and Fingerprint-Recognizing P6500 ]]> During its announcement party, HTC gave word on two new handsets launching in Europe later this month and in November, the S730 and P6500, respectively. The WM6, Office Mobile-loaded S730, which appears to be a sequel to the Vox, sports Wi-Fi, HDSPA, auto-slide QWERTY keyboard, 256MB of flash memory, and the usual HTC works. Up next, the unattractive enterprise-oriented P6500.

htcp6500.png
It comes with WM6 Pro, fingerprint ID for gov't/corporate drones, remote wipe function to clear everything if it's lost or stolen, a dual SDIO interface, GPS, and a 3MP cam for barcode and business card reader apps. Oh, and it has a monster 3.5-inch anti-glare screen. But that doesn't make it look any prettier, unfortunately. [S730, P6500]

<![CDATA[ Vox amPlugs, for Guitar Players on the Run ]]> When your guitar playing is loud enough to wake the dead, keep it to yourself with a cute amPlug miniature amplifier for your headphones. Running on two AAA batteries, you simply plug it into your guitar, plug your headphones into the other end, and enjoy your choice of three realistic tube amp sounds, including Marshall-style British metal, classic American rock (like a Mesa Boogie) and the sound of that old Vox AC-30 amplifier used by the Beatles back in the olden days. Each amp is around $56 (and you can find it for less in some stores). No one will be watching you, why don't you do it in the road? [Vox Amps, via Music Thing]

<![CDATA[ HTC Vox Video Walkthrough ]]> If you're a fan of HTC's smartphones but really don't like the big bulge it puts into your pants, the Vox could be the phone for you. Refresher stats: slide-out QWERTY, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, EDGE, microSD and Windows Mobile 6.

Take a look at the extensive, and some would say overkill, six-minute video to get a better look at how the phone behaves. Feel free to mute the volume as well as you probably don't speak what sounds like Russian.

<![CDATA[ HTC Vox and HTC S720 Gallery ]]> Those of you who are looking forward to the HTC Vox—a candybar-shaped HTC Windows Mobile 6 phone—can take a look at this gallery. The Vox is GSM whereas the S720 is CDMA on Telus has EV-DO. What's the point? Well, if you wanted to grab this on US providers, the fact that there are two versions of the phone should remind you of the Wizard and its multi-provider four-pronged attack.

The slider's typical HTC and definitely something you'd want to use if you're not a fan of going all the way up to a, say, 8525 or a TyTN.

<![CDATA[ HTC Making the Slow March Toward Progress With HTC Vox and Love ]]> Two other phones from HTC were unveiled at 3GSM this week. Neither of them are nearly as big as the portly HTC Advantage though, with the HTC Vox being smartphone-sized and the HTC Love being Artemis-sized.

We do like when HTC releases new phones, but we're not that impressed with these. The Vox (S710), like we saw before, is a smartphone running Windows Mobile 6 and has a slide-out keyboard. That's great, and the 2.4-inch screen, Mobile Office support, and the sliding keyboard makes this a pretty good combination between portability and usability. But there's nothing revolutionary about this phone.

htclove.jpgThe same goes for the Love (P3350), which has 256MB of internal memory (that's a lot), but ditches the GPS found in the Artemis. Other than that, this is supposed to be a music phone, with the built-in front music buttons and the "HTC RollR" trackball. It's a decent phone—don't get us wrong—but only slightly upgraded from HTC's previous offerings.

<![CDATA[ HTC Vox Prototype Taken For a Spin: Windows Mobile 6.0, But No 3G ]]> The hype surrounding the HTC Vox continues to build, today bringing us an in-depth cavity search of a prototype. Not only do we get clear photos (we've been inching toward this day for some time now), but we also get more technical details. That and more pics inside.

Based on the prototype, the smartphone will run Windows Mobile 6.0 (nicknamed Crossbow) and will come with Wi-Fi (like its Dash cousin), 2-megapixel camera and 64MB of RAM. Potential deal breaker: no 3G UMTS support. You were so close, HTC. We've still not a clue when HTC plans to launch it, but the prototype definitely makes all the right impressions, less the 3G.

<![CDATA[ HTC Vox: First High Quality Leaked Renders ]]> After having to get Lasik surgery due to these insanely blurry HTC Vox spy shots, we're glad to see HTC release some real photos for the slider, even if they are just renders.

According to the photos, the Vox will be among the first of HTC's phones to run Windows Mobile Crossbow, the "next-gen" WM OS from Microsoft. As for the Vox itself, Slashgear notes that there's quad-band, Wi-Fi, spring-assisted slider and a 2-megapixel camera. Not a bad spec sheet for a smaller, smartphone model.

<![CDATA[ HTC Vox Sliding Smartphone Spy Shot ]]> Here's what we belive to be the first shot of the HTC Vox slide-out QWERTY smartphone. One suggestion to the tipster though: could you possibly make this any blurrier? We can still tell it's a phone. Maybe you should put this through photoshop and smudge it up a little bit so that we can't tell whether that's a screen or Bigfoot's ass.

"Thanks" MaximusFilms!

Update: Bonus shot after the jump.

<![CDATA[ Nokia N93i Sends Video Straight to Vox Videoblog Site ]]> Nokia showed off their updated N93i, the slimmer, lighter version of their videocamera/phone hybrid. One really cool thing you can do with it is use their new videoblogging service called Vox. It works great with the N93i, allowing you to shoot your videos right from your phone to the site with the push of a button. Witness Blakeley as he creams his pants with love over the idea of not having to encode stuff for YouTube anymore.

If you're really bored, you can go to their demo site that has all of the videos they're making while showing off the function and phone to people like us here at CES. Excitement!

<![CDATA[ HTC Vox Keyboard-Enabled Smartphone Gets Firmer, Less Rendery ]]> htcvox2.jpgThe renders we've shown you of the HTC Vox seems to be pretty much on target, detailing a regular smartphone-like device but with a slide-out keyboard. Boy Genius has the first "live" shot of the HTC box, albeit with a pasted-on screen.

It looks like the Vox (S710) will have a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 128MB ROM/64MB RAM, 802.11b/g, Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 200MHz OMAP processor, Bluetooth, USB 1.1, and microSD expansion slot. Nothing we haven't seen before in HTC devices.

The most interesting thing is, of course, the slide-out keyboard. Having a full-sized Cingular 8525-like keyboard should make the Vox a pretty great buy for users who need a more compact smartphone.

<![CDATA[ HTC Vox First Details: Slide Out QWERTY Keyboard ]]> HTC's next smartphone goes by the name of Vox and does things a little differently than current HTC smartphones: it's got a full size, slide out QWERTY keyboard. On top of that is the rumblings that it might use Crossbow, the newer version of Windows Mobile. Maybe this version of Windows mobile won't be as slow as molasses.

Keeping in mind that this is all just rumor and hearsay, the Vox should feature a 2.4-inch display as well as the normal amenities like Wi-Fi, EDGE support and Bluetooth. It still has the same 2.0-megapixel camera that the Dash has, which is kind of lame considering ball point pens now come equipped with more powerful cameras these days. More info on the Vox is expected early next year. If these specs end up being true, then the only new feature would be the slide out keyboard. Considering that the Dash works just fine without such a keyboard, it makes you wonder just what the Vox is trying to accomplish.
