Japan is crazy. Proof: they have squid jerky postcards over there. Luckily, the squid is shrink-wrapped to prevent postman hangnails getting mixed in there, but who knows; those might be a delicacy in Japan too.
For under $3 each, consider your Christmas shopping taken care of.

And for our next delicacy...
Uber Otaku under pressed contact paper...
If it exists, some Japanese fanboy has an obsession for it.
Do you have to pay postage or can you just throw it into the Ocean?
the karaoke place in Torrance my friends and I frequent sells squid jerky. we call it squirky. yummy stuff, that squirky. the smell stays on the mic too, but the beer breath is more pungent.
Surume Ika (dried squid/cuttle fish) is a popular Japanese snack food. Looks like they managed to find a way to package it into a postcard so that it can be mailed to celibrate the New Year.
You can buy it in its shredded form via Amazon (Uwajimaya). Or you can find it at your local Asian foods store. Think of it as squid jerky!
Dried Ika is fantastic! Now I'm hungry for some. There's various varieties, one with and without the squid ink, or spicy. It's great with a beer.
Like eifafan noted, you can find it at your local asian food store. Grab some with a beer and enjoy.
Note: Make sure you have dental floss & mouthwash close by when you're done.
Awesome! This way, I can get some Chirstmas mailing done and score some dried squid. Win-win!
They're marketing this as "Suru Mail" the version shown is a Nengajoo (Japanese New Year's Day Postcard) which the Japanese send out to their friends and relatives so that they are delivered by the 1st of January.
