The only thing special about this 128MB is the fact that it displays album art in a circle on the front. In Korea, you can purchase virtual albums with the music and art on board. This way, you're fooling yourself into thinking you're viewing the front of the CD as it's spinning away in your player.
Other than this "digital album" art oddity, there's not much of note. We'd much rather buy the actual CD and rip it onto our standard players.

I'm surprised the Gizmodo staff feels this way.
Personally, I think the idea of virtual albums is long over-due. I hate buying CDs because I then have to store the jewel case and art somewhere so I can put the CD in my binder.
Getting a PDF or whatever of album art with the MP3s still keeps some of that visual recognition that you can associate with the music, with none of the BS and space taking that having a CD creates.
It might be cool too if the album art that the MP3s came with had an alternate formatting so you could print it out and put it in ajewel case yourself.
so is it as big as a real CD player?

Getting a PDF of album art with the MP3s? lol

So you're saying the album art spins around on the screen? :-)
128 megs? So you can see the album art for, what, both of the albums you'll be able to squeeze in there?
128 MB? Is it free?
I think i took a crap one time that had more memory than that player.
that looks sweet.
I dropped a 128mb MMC card and didn't bother to pick it up
The system needs to be that you pay for a unique download key that lets you DL a Zip folder containing the songs, the album art, the inlay and the disk art. That way, you can burn it and have a replica of a store bought copy without needing to leave your house.
This player is crap, but it is a cool idea for the mythical touch-screen ipod.
If it spinned then I'd buy it to match the rims of my priuscade.
what is this "cd" you speak of?
Ok, am I the only one who thinks that the circular screen with a big hole in the center is going to detract from my album cover art viewing pleasure?

I mean, come on! If that's going to be a big selling point for your mp3 player, give us a nice screen that allows us to see the full picture, no?
ewww LostProphets!
their new stuff SUCKS!
As nailscars said, its pretty much crap. At 128 its way behind the time, however I think the point of the design is great, and I think it should be encouraged and developed into a much better product.
