If this leaked picture really is the Shadow II, then T-Mobile is continuing on the same path of loading a proprietary UI on top of the standard WM facade. There's not much else we can tell from this, but we do see that it has MyFaves and HotSpot@Home compatibility. Is this still made by HTC? Probably, unless T-Mobile defected to i-Mate or something. If you're looking for a HotSpot@Home phone in the near future, you might want to wait to see how this one plays out. [Tmonews]

<![CDATA[ T-Mobile's Fave-o-tron Helps You Pick Your Faves ]]> favotron.jpgA neat little App from T-Mobile helps you decide who belongs in your myFaves, the plan on T-Mobile that allows you to call five people for free. It's basically just a set of questions like "Who will help you move to Alaska", and "Who will be at your surprise birthday party", then narrowing it down with "Who notices when you get a haircut" and "Who takes the longest in the bathroom".

Once you're done, it tallies up the score and gives you your Fave 5. Useful if you've got 3 or 4, but can't decide who the last one should be.

<![CDATA[ Cheap Phone Recommendation: Nokia 6133 at T-Mobile ]]> nokia6133-1.jpgI'm pretty damn sure that T-Mobile is on a mission to have every damn phone in the world available for their customers. It is just more reason to keep extending that contact to get new phones.

Today, T-Mobile has announced the availability of the Nokia 6133 clamshell. For $100 bucks, its not a bad catch at all. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera with 8x zoom, video recorder, MP3 player, Bluetooth, speakerphone and supports T-Mobile myFaves. It is available for $100 with a ball-busting contract. The outer digital analog-style clock is pretty nifty, though.

At least Nokia still cares about the average cellphone users.

<![CDATA[ T-Mobile myFaves Hands On With the BlackBerry Pearl ]]> myfaves1.jpgWe've gotten a chance to play with the T-Mobile myFaves service where you choose five of your most gossipy friends for unlimited calling. To start, yes it's free calls both to and from your five.

Am I charged for incoming calls from my Fave 5? Any domestic call to or from your Fave 5 won't count against your Whenever Minutes .

On the BlackBerry Pearl—and most other phones—the faves icons are always up front unless you disable it. It's a set of five customizable pictures/icons to go along with your callers. To start, you select an empty icon (the ones with a "+" icon) and click.

More after the jump.

myfaves4.jpg

Then the Pearl will ask you to either create a new contact or add one from your address book. Type in the name, their phone number, select a picture, and assign a special ring-tone for this person. Once this is done, you'll get a note saying the number is being updated on T-Mobile's servers, which takes just about 5 to 10 seconds to complete. Once that's done, the icon on your phone's splash page will reflect your changes.

myfaves3.jpg

You can also turn off the myFaves display from any phone if you don't want it cluttering up your phone's screen. Or if you just want to hide it from your buddies—as seen in the latest T-Mobile TV ad.

myfavesme.jpg

Once you have the myFaves added, selecting an icon will give you the option of either giving him a call or sending him an SMS/MMS message. Apologize for the quality of this last picture since I couldn't find a screenshot program that worked with my Pearl and my PC.

<![CDATA[ More T-Mobile myFaves Info ]]> We had a conference call with T-Mobile this morning and got some additional info on the T-Mobile myFaves service that you undoubtedly already saw ads for on TV.

If you're buying a new T-Mobile phone now, all models are going to be myFaves enabled. You can tell whether the phone you're getting is a myFaves phone by looking at the back for the 5-spotted myFaves symbol. If you're lucky, some phones sold in August (and a few all the way back to June) had this symbol and can be updated OTA, over-the-air style. You can visit your T-Mobile dealer to check.

More info after the jump.

They've also said that older phones won't be supporting the myFaves service, since it's very UI-centric with the five icons on your phone's screen. You can change your numbers once each calendar month, so there's no tomfoolery by changing numbers to get free calls.

One upcoming feature on the T-Mobile website that's worth noting is a tool to help you identify what numbers you make the most calls to, and then helping you set those as your five faves. But normal myFaves customization can be done on the phone itself or online.

This is a pretty sweet deal that we'd definitely use if our plan didn't expire in the year 2018.

<![CDATA[ T-Mobile myFaves Launches ]]> aaTMOBILE.jpg

We covered myFaves quite a bit last week, T-Mobile's new plan to allow unlimited calling to a list of 5 friends who can change month to month. It's official: myFaves has officially launched...without Catherine Zeta Jones. Tear. Now to find five friends.
Thanks Dan!

<![CDATA[ T-Mobile's myFaves Screenshots ]]> myfaves1.jpgAccording to some T-Mobile leak on the Pinstack forums, their upcoming myFaves plan that allows you to make unlimited calls to five numbers for free, is going to launch sometime very early next week. They've also got the screenshots of how myFaves is going to look on a phone's UI—in this case, the BlackBerry Pearl.

It looks from the screenshots that you can choose icons or pictures for each one of the five, and customize their ringtones from a separate UI screen.

Although this plan is more service-side dependent, T-Mobile seems to be branding phones with some sort of "myFaves enabled" icon, which is the logo we were confused about before.
