Just when I was getting used to the nice moo noises coming from the MacBook, Apple went and got rid of it with a silly firmware update. MacBook owners, if you haven't done so already fire up the software updater to get the MacBook SMC Firmware Update v1.0. According to the information page regarding this update, it adjusts the fan behavior in the MacBook. MooBeGone is what I like to call it. Maybe the MacBook can find a new farm animal to emulate. I swear I'll get this thing to quack before the day I die.

I saw that on www.moobook.com earlier today.
Any developer who can use the motion sensors could make it so that when you flip your Mac Book over it plays a random farm noise (like those mooing cans). Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
As a 2 month long macbook user, I've never heard this "moo". I admit the laptop a much, MUCH cooler and nearly pleasant on my lap after the update. But mooing? I think is a myth. I watched a movie that supposedly recorded the sound and I didn't hear it. BTW, my macbook has never turned brown nor has the cord exploded into fire. Maybe, just maybe the Macbook is a decent little machine after all.
Mine mooed, now it doesn't. Now it just freakin sounds like I live near O'Hare.
Downloaded it- tried to run it. Box came up and said I didn't need it. Granted, my MBP doesn't moo, but it's hot as hell. Win some, lose some, I guess.
Um. That's a picture of a MacBook Pro, not a MacBook.
