We've seen plenty of pimped out beds with built-in LCDs that magically ascend from the base, but none of them can come close to this one. Looking like something you'd find in the Jetsons' household, the Ruf-Cinema multimedia bed has its own built-in projection screen that rises and descends with the push of a button. As if that weren't enough, the bed also has...

an integrated A/V rack that lets you store your game console, DVD player, and set top box. No word on pricing or availability, though we wish it had some built-in speakers as well.

with the projector right next to your head... are projectors really 100% silent these days?
Hrrmm... Seems like a projector is a poor choice for this type of setup. You can't sit in the center of the bed at all. You couldn't watch the TV (or do anything for that matter) in the middle of the bed without blocking the projection. Considering how much this thing probably costs, just stick a plasma/LCD in there instead.
silly designers. who wants to have the projector fan blasting in one ear?!?
Everything about this design seems like poor choice to me. The fact that you still need speakers sitting all around, the big gap in the headboard, the noisy av equipment next to your ears and so forth. It looks like something very thrown-together, and not really all that enjoyable. A thin TV mounted on the wall opposite the foot of the bed would seem a much better choice on all accounts.
Perhaps if the components were integrated to be a little more out-of-the-way rather than looking like you're using an AV rack as a headboard this thing would make more sense
Terrible product. Nice bedroom. Where's the orgasmatron?
No one is thinking about the motion in the ocean factor. Hello! I have trouble keeping my damn lamp on the end table upright and it's not even attached to the bed. It's at least 6" away. Now attach all this AV stuff to the bed and we have some damage going on.
I am not worried about the projector next to my head. The read audiophile will have speakers no where near the bed but mounted away from it. This is all about presentation. But what kind of presentation is it when the damn AV equipment falls down on top of you and your lady? That is just wrong! I do however like the padded headrests. Good for bondage. I tell too much. Plus it messes up the alignment of the projection TV.
Word to your mutha...
I'll put it right next to my convertable table!
...but does it have a bedpan?
that is kind of cool, but I have something that works exactly like that but is a bit more sophisticated than that. but this is still a cool little thing.
Are the bed occupants watching themselves on the screen?
Terrible and ugly.
It's nice to have a TV right on the bed but it just took obesity to another level :D
That is such bad Feng Shui
I don't see what the issue is, really. This bed is obviously made for married couples, who we all know don't have anything better to do than watch TV. The bed for bachelors, however, is the model with the screen at the head of the bed so you don't have to miss even a moment of ConAir whilst you's bonin'.
The picture is a "this is what you people would look like if you got your fat asses out of bed and stopped watching TV for a while" picture.
