If you're looking for a pair of 2.1 USB speakers without the .1, the Logitech Z10 Interactive Speakers should do fine. Thanks to the woofers mounted on the back of the satellites, the pair replicate bass well enough for people who don't want to get cardiac arrhythmia every time they listen to a Snoop track.
The sound was a bit flat, but the reviewers preferred it that way. The main draw, however, is the 160x43 LCD display on the right speaker.
The same LCD that's on the Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard gives you "current track information, your latest POP3 emails, the time and date, your current CPU and RAM utilization, a countdown timer, and a stopwatch." There are also a bunch of mods for the G15 LCD, where you can find on the mod websites below.
There's also support for all the major media players—probably not the Zune—and you can even set radio favorites on the thing. You'll most likely be using the touch-sensitive buttons that control standard playback, volume, and power controls more, and they're definitely slick looking. They're $149 on Amazon, which isn't bad but a bit more than the older Logitech Z-2300s that come with a sub.

I'm guessing these must be USB speakers then? Meh, I'll stick to my Logitech z-4's for now, with an actual .1 under my desk.

Ya know what someone needs to make? A 2-way iPod-Zune adapter. You plug it into the bottom of the Zune and now you can plug the Zune into any of the myriad of iPod accessories already in existence. It should be able to pass input information to the Zune and pass song info from the Zune. Seriously, this needs to exist.
Or would such a thing be illegal in some way for some reason?

These speakers certainly do look nice, but I'll also stick with my Z-4's for now.
I REALLY like the idea of an ipod accessory adapter, not just for the Zune, but, also, EVERYTHING ELSE!
Nice, but ever since I added a sub to my computer I can't imagine not having one. I like my bass to stun small animals at short distances.
I replaced an Altec Lansing 5.1 system with the Creative GigaWorks T20 2.0 system, and the Creatives pump out much more bass. Go figure.
I bought a pair of Z10 a couple months back at BestBuy (even though I don't think Logitech was officially selling them) and returned a few days later. As the review mentioned the buttons were less than responsive which was one of the main sticking points. The speakers also weren't very loud (not that I would pump up the volume that high, I just like to have that option). At the time I didn't know that LCD was the same used in the G15 keyboard which was customizable. Additionally, like most electronic devices we have today, it didn't completely "turn off." When it's off it would essentially be on "Standby" mode consistently drawing power. Instead I got the Creative T20. Didn't really need the LCD in the end.
You have forgot that speakers and g15 keyboard too have also linux support by g15tools and g15daemon projects on sourceforge.com
