Jalopnik reports on this fark-job, where a Koenigsegg CCX plays the role of the new Knight Industries 2000 in the upcoming film. Of course, that doesn't help us in our Hasselhoff role-playing, since the he 4.7L, twin-supercharged, 806hp car costs $650,000. This is one instance where they're taking something from my childhood and changing it and I don't feel like complaining. As much as I love the original KITT, this is a very worthy replacement.

This is silly. KITT must not only be fast, but also stealthy. The TransAm worked because it wasn't such an unusual car at the time. There's no way that Michael Knight does any sort of slinking around in this car without generating immediate unwanted attention. Boo.

Bandit, what world were you living in back in the 80's? Are you kidding me? That Trans-Am was very popular and was not considered an "everyday car". And how stealthy is a red revolving laser beam at the front of your car, anyway?

That being said, I LOVE the look of this version! As for the role of M. Knight: George Clooney. He's got the chin, the grin and the "Mr. Hollywood" look.

The new k.i.t.t is a joke,It has to be a 2000 - 06 trans-am or a banshee from the knight rider
t.v movie. Don't mess up the series knight rider by changeing the car.

I agree with cool up to a extent. The new Transam just doesn't measure up to me. I think the best cars to use would be the new Solstice or the new GTO.

They can always remake Knight Rider, Airwolf, Blue Thunder, but if they go too far from what the fans of the series remember, they could tank the whole concept. Battlestar Galactica wasn't actually as much a remake as a reimagining of the story, which is different. I'd hate for them to do to Knight Rider what they did to Dukes of Hazard and Beverly Hillbillies. It just wouldn't be Knight Rider anymore. It'd be something else using the series ID I remember. Which would suck.
