That kooky designer Phillipe Starck (or S+arck, for the hoity-toity) is at it again for Fossil Watches, designing another sculpture you wear on your wrist that will tell the time only to those who know how it works.
Sure, everybody else is using cellphones to tell the time, but all you have to do is glance at your wrist. This design, called O-ring Digi, has a doughnut hole in the middle, displays hours as numerals, and minutes as cumulative segments building around the ring. Neat. It's relatively cheap, too, at $110.

I love the watch face design. Not so much love for the watch band; flat black plastic doesn't do it for me.
I also hate the band. The whole thing ought to make for an interesting tan line though.
hmm...I really like this. I'd have to see it on my wrist though to judge how the hole would look.
Probably not good for the more hirsute out there!
Remember to apply sunscreen in the hole.
Oddly enough, this isn't the first time I've had to make this comment.
It's for women btw.
now thats a neat trick
I like it a lot... but there doesn't appear to be a light on it. That stinks.
Kinda cool looking... it is 3:15, right?
So, that watch is showing 3:15?
The black wristband doesn't bother me so much except for the fact that its completely non-adjustable. So much for having it fit anyone other than Phillip Starck's wrist.
I normally dont like anything without a metal band, but I love the face design!
If it's anything like the Fossil Starck I got a few years ago, they cut the band to size when you get it. And the black rubber looks sharp, not cheap. Plenty of $1k+ watches have rubber straps these days.
A light *would* be nice.
For women?!? It's 41mm across! *sigh* Maybe I'm just tiny.
Haha, other Starck watch designs on that site...The "Wrapped Analog - Grey" looks like the new iPod Shuffle.
Kinda Kool...3.15!
Heyy! Look in duh hole for dah hour hokkay! You can wear it but cant use it... mobile phone time comes in handy huh?
"Hey dude, what time ya got?"
...
"Umm... a couple of bars around a circle."
"What?!"
At least 20 people have given me compliments on this watch. Over a freakin' watch! I just need to figure out how to take those girls home now. The watch band is like those washer bracelet things we used to wear back in the 80s (we used to call them goonies). It's actually very, very easy to read. Only downside? No light or glow in the dark hands. Forget trying to tell the time in the dark.
