It may look like some oversized BattleBot, but the Tank Chair is a rugged, off-road wheelchair that lets anybody with leg injuries "get back to nature." Each chair is custom built and can take on any type of terrain. There's no word on pricing, but any wheelchair that looks this cool has got to be worth the splurge. Hit the jump for some extra shots.

THAT IS THE COOLEST THING EVER!
very sweet but this was on gizmodo over a year ago
#5 is alive
That is extremely cool.
Sorry to be selfish, but I'm envisioning a human's weight in cameras and RC gear for the coolest ROV ever!
Oh sure I'd put a couple miles on it first...
I second the sentiments of jrghoull. Old, old, old. Recycling is the lowest form of news (it's called "news" because it's new).
Well Pimp my Gimp - That thing is sweet! One question - How many horses?!
I'd like to see a hoveround do that
die nature, DIE!
did i get stuck in a time warp too?
they made fun of him for his handicap...
now he is... THE 'CAPPINATOR!
Don't you guys check if you've covered the same story before?
Um, I've fallen and have been crushed by my wheelchair!
rugged
Hey, not everyone see's EVERY news article EVERY DAY! If you haven't seen it before, it's new to you!
I tried to follow up on this, and the response is "working on a new version, leave email and will notify you" so I guess there are some problems with it. There are a couple of good-looking designs [one looks like a Bobcat w/o the blade and w/the wheelchair fitting where the driver usually sits] but the prices are almost the price of a new Wrangler. Being disabled and poor is a non-working combination.
Great gimps have another way to fuck them selves up more
Great Post ... http://www.topblogposts.com

Heh. "Pimp my Gimp".
Lop off my legs and gimme one now
seriously my family has a history of diabetes, so, rather than wait 40 years to get limbs amputated for poor circulation, do it now, and bill medicaid/medicare for the chair
I think it would make for an interesting social experiment to analyze how easily it is for people to remember some small random article from a website that they read a year ago... While at the same time most of us can't remember what we had for breakfast. The human mind is a strange thing...
Anyone else want to put a giant gun on this thing?
Ravlen, to be fair, it's not too many times you see a picture of a wheelchair with tank tracks, so it does kind of stick in the mind!
yeah this chair looks incomplete without HUGE guns.
I'm with Rockboy04. The first thing that came to mind was "what would this look like with a remote controlled paint ball gattling gun mounted on top?"
I'm with m3telsyr3n, lets all bill medicaid for them, and then mount gattling paintball guns on them, and have a huge war!
That's pretty cool, I'd probably like to ride on the thing even if I wasn't disabled or injured. However, I would be concerned about falling over. It seems like with such a seemingly high center of gravity, one would tip over if not careful when going too fast up or down a steep incline.
I could swear gizmodo features this gimptank every other month!!
how much ponies do you get with each coverage, gentlemen?
Oh man awesome. Almost makes me wish me legs were broke.
Johnny Five Is Alive!
Am I loser because I've already seen this on Gizmodo before?
This one seems to be a walkie's wet dream. But as an everyday gimp I'm wondering how many of you I would have to cajole just to drag my butt up what looks to be a 40+ in. vertical? The goal is independence not just filling our Ahnold fantasies.
