Here's an idea straight out of a prison movie: the Huckleberry, which can turn your MacBook into a video camera. You know how prisoners use hand mirrors to see people in the next cell? That's how the Huckleberry works, using a small mirror to let you use that little iSight camera on the MacBook as a forward-facing video camera, too. Developed by Charlie Dancey with a little help from Mungai Mirrors Ltd., it'll be introduced at Mac Expo on October 26 in London, selling for
14.95 (about $28).
Neat idea. Now if they could just make it quickly swing out of the way using electronic switching, you could use it to video record interviews between you and someone sitting in front of you.

This had to be DEVELOPED?
Where's the smoke to go along with the mirrors?
I'd like one with a "funny mirror", that way the other person will always look funny and I would look better than him/her.
That's actually pretty cool - and the best value in a Mac accessory I've ever seen. I was considering getting the Dell XPS 1210 because it has a rotating camera, which would be great for recording lectures and the like. But then I decided not to. True story, that.
I need more coffee.
neat idea. yeah, but my acer notebook has a camera that swivels 270 degrees- even though its not anywhere near the image quality of the built in isights, i can still creep on the people across the table from me without an awkward looking makeup mirror clipped on my laptop.
Sweet, now I can stare at people in the airport without worrying about making eye contact.

Actually, what would be even cooler would be to have the mirror only cover half the camera's field of view so you could simultaneously see forward and backwards. Focusing might be a problem... but maybe not so much if both things being viewed were at the same distance.
Would be fun to also mess around with only half-reflective mirrors.
USB Camera, 3 foot cable, points any direction.
Freebadeebadingdong: finally, someone with sense here!

Or you could just use another camera. Which would be about a million times cheaper.
$15 for a that? It's destined to be shattered or forgotten. Heck, without trying too hard I could probably by another webcamera for that price on ebay; shipping included.
14 pounds! sweet sassy molassy! That's got to have all of 20P of materials in it. now that's a profit margin.
So, has it occurred to anyone that the image will be upside down?
Now, when you talk about that flippin' image, you won't be cussin'.

So now when you talk about that flippin' image, you might not actually be cussin'. Huh.
Great idea for $5. Sheer chutzpah for $28.
Ingenious ripoff.
I have an idea...make that mirror a magnifying one, so girls can pluck their mustaches while they surf and color_guru can get close-ups at airports
schrosa-
There's two mirrors - the image will be right-side-up again.
I think that was the "development" process.
Can I use the back side of iPod to do same?
Sure you could buy an external camera. But the point is simplicity and convenience. And that's what you pay for. Besides, the average mac users look for those things - that's why they buy macs.
Why are those concepts so difficult for some people to understand?
Hang on, if it's £14.95 for that tiny one, the ones on the front of my cupboards must be worth thousands and thousands. Woohooo, I'm rich, rich, rich.......
