Here's a leaked Garmin Nuvi GPS. Two things. The Nuvi's new widescreen format makes it harder to pocket, and the whole nuvi concept was pocketability. Secondly, this one pulls data from MSN Direct. You know the same tech that powers spot watches. Those things sucked, but this could work out nicely. It probably will cost a few bucks, like many of today's traffic solutions. but this one will be neato, including data for "geo-referenced information like traffic conditions, weather forecasts, fuel prices, and movie times." Could be decent competition to the new wave of smart GPS navigators like the Dash Express.

Definately the proper place for MSNDirect. I knew that technology, on its own sucked the innevitable shankolla - but converged with something that a person needs (like a BJ) and thats a good combination.
Also, the widescreen, Ill take it. I would never put a GPS in my pocket - unless I was looking for my schlong.. and I have someone to do that already. MMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmkkkk
Figures. I happen to know that Santa just had his elves crank out a Nuvi 360 for me for Christmas (Costco $549 - woohoo). Now I don't even get to unwrap before I'm already looking ahead at the "latest and greatest". Frankly, if I can't fit it in my pocket, I think I'd prefer the 360. Widescreen is cute, but the thing that sold me on this is the ability to slip in my pocket and take on day trips for business, since I keep getting cabbies either (a) taking me for a ride or (b) getting hopelessly lost on their way from LaGuardia to Manhattan.
As a Nuvi 350 early adopter I'm kicking myself for not waiting for the 2nd gen devices to come out first. Let me say I absolutely adore my 350 but the changes are significant when comparing side-by-side with the 660 (and now 670). The screen contrast and brightness are much better on the newer devices, as is the built-in FM tuner that will play your navigational instructions, audio books, and mp3's through any station you choose.
As to pocketability (sp?) I never carry the device on me anyway. It's either in my carry-on or mounted in the rental car. For my purposes the larger display would be well worth the added bulk.
Also, the larger display allows room for an additional 'primary screen' button (MP3 app I assume from the icon) which allows you to access this feature much quicker than the older units which require first pressing a 'menu' button then navigating various sub-menus to find what you want.
My only gripe about the Nuvi so far is that you can't customize the menus to put your more used features closer to the main view.
Anyone with a HUGE, BULKY 660 wanting to downsize to a slim and svelte 350 - I may be able to help you out ;-)
