EdgeFX Lets Console Gamers Frag Away with a Mouse

600P-EdgeFX.jpg SplitFish's new EdgeFX mouse was designed to make your PlayStation 2's Dual Shock controller obsolete. It has the controller's four face buttons etched onto it's side and also comes with a secondary controller that contains the Dual Shock's analog and directional pads. The $70 combo is out this week, but it only works with the PS2, though SplitFish promises PS3 and Xbox versions are in the works. We think it's a better alternative to XCM's offering.

  • Can't you just hook up a USB keyboard and mouse? or do you need other stuff like a converter or adapter or something... O_o

my friend has a keyboard for the PS2, but I never saw a mouse, he played with the analog sticks on the ends of the board lmao

  • The reason I don't have a console is b/c the lack of more for fps games. I can't stand the thumbstick, I HATES it.

Same here. Shooters are about all I play, and the thumbstick just never sat right with me as an aim control. I'd be a full blown console convert if any of the systems had a good mouse-based control, and this design is fantastic. Hope it gets released for the 360.
  • Me too...miserable to get accurate aim with thumbsticks, unless you're the type who never leaves the console...

Wow, good thing I paged back to find this!

I'd still rather have a KB/mouse combo, but this is a step in the right direction.

  • Hmm - sort of resembles the Wii's Nunchuck get up doesn't it? Ahh Nintendo, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.
