It's official. You no longer need to be a rich international man of mystery to have cool gadgets. For only $3, you can own a pocket spy camera that takes stills and movies, and can double as a webcam.
Storing up to 2MB of data and drawing energy from AAAs, the Digicam Trio doesn't need much in storage or power because it only takes 640x480 VGA resolution images anyway. Think of it as a kit car. It can be our little secret that there's nothing under the hood of your Porsche or your digital camera.

A 2 MB camera the size of about 4 pens in your pocket. I think I have a new stocking stuffer for the one I could care less about in my life.
wow: there are *two* clips!
Had one of these EXACTLY back when it cost $30. It sucked terribly. Its pictures were barely viewable, suckier than those optical mouse scanning hacks.
Actually, pair this thing with a cheap model rocket, and you've got a dirt cheap replacement for the old Estes 110 film rocket-cam thingies they used to sell. Just set the self-timer (it has one, right?) or start the video recording and launch it. And if/when you experience a "gravitationaly assisted core sampling event" or "foliage assisted landing" you'll only be out by a $3 camera and a cheap cardboard tube rocket.
I had one of these when they cost $30 or $40... Sucked. Really bad.. back then it was called the AIPTEK Pencam Trio, but this has the same specifications and LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME. I wouldn't take that if someone offered it to me for a penny! It's total crap.
Ok i Would NEVER recommend this camera! I had one a few years ago. It only takes pictures in bright lighting conditions and are usually TERRIBLE images even in the best situations! Sucks batteries dry, fast. I wouldnt waste 50 cents on this camera
TERRIBLE PRODUCT!!! I had one of these like 4 years ago and it ONLY took pictures in the right lighting conditions! If it was even slightly dark or say your taking a picture of someone whos wearing a black shirt it may not take the picture if most of the image area is black!..
I find it amusing that the postage/shipping is more than the product! Actually 1/3 more! ($3.95)
My wife picked up a couple of these for the kids on 'Black Friday'; the plan is to distract them from the real toys under Daddy's side of the tree...
Looks like they are all sold out at Serif site
"Sorry, the product: Digicam VGA is no longer available. Unfortunately, we have sold out of this item and will not be receiving any further stock."
We had those in Denmark for about 6-7 dollars back a while here too because no one wanted to buy them at 30 dollars ....and yes...because they sucked big time.
You could also get lot's of variations of this camera (sipix!) where it was square, elongated, rounded, had a "animal-of-your-choice-look" to it and much more....Same 640x480 technology, same "dark" images...and the same 2 mb memory in them all.
I work at a "merchandise" company. This is a typical "merchandise" product...where someone can purchase it with "their-brand-name" on it. The same goes for LCD-Keychains and other gadgets from the "Far-East" countries.
A great present for dumb small kids who always want expensive kid video and cameras....but this time, they look cooler, are easier to use, probably have the same quality of photo, and cost less.
It's a Minkman!
There's another 1.3mp cam for $15 on that site that has a total of 24mb storage (16mb flash storage thrown in). Not bad for the tween who bugs you to use your dig. camera, but you're afraid the little brat will break it.
GRAH damn dialup! GRAH double-posting! GRAH!
Believe it or not, I have one of those. I got one for free somewhere.
They suck.
I got one of these for free a few years ago. It is horrible, the pictures are barely viewable.
You get what you pay for, can't complain at that price point, just buy something better.
i want to order so many !how can i do that?
pls tell me!
thanks ~!
