Samsung Launches First Hard Drive Cellphone

sph_v5400_hd.jpg imageSamsung has actually released the SPH-V5400 in Korea, the clam shell phone with a 1.5GB hard drive inside. To my knowledge, this is the first cellphone with a hard drive to ever make it to market—let's see how it does.

I'm pretty on board the whole convergence train that leads to a future where all our gear is crammed into one super-device—I just think it's going to take years and years to get there (and then more time to incorporate all the new gadgets we've developed in the meantime). Still, cellphones with hard drives? So happening. Congratulations to Samsung for leading the way—hopefully it's a good piece of hardware. (Thanks, JW!)
