I myself like this. After switching from Nokia to HTC though I'm not sure I like it that much. The only issue with my HTC is WM 5.0, it's too buggy for my liking. But from me, this phone definitely gets thumbs up.

I really like this phone. I just have a simple question that I haven't been able to find out with my 30 seconds of looking. Is it GSM or not. From the question I obviously have a GSM phone and hate having to go through TMo to activate phones, largely cause I have a grandfathered in web plan that I don't want to have to pay more for. The last 3 phones I've had I've imported from Europe and have simply swapped the sim card.

Yes it is a tri-band GSM + WCDMA phone. Although, strangely, it's only tri-band so not ideal like quad-band GSM phones like N80. What i don't understand is, though, Nokia intends to have N95 be the super phone, but why just tri-band?? Both N73 and N80 are quad-band, as well as N75 it seems...

This is GSM phone but nokia did the UNTHINKABLE in my opininon...they reverted back to tri-band GSM / Single band UMTS. So the onyl band good for the US is GSM 1900. It doesn't even have 850. Can you hear me cry? I bought N80 in July. today I saw this thing and I fell in love with bit but WHY IN THE WORLD would they cripple something so advanced. 5MP camera, WiFi and a crappy network support is beyond me. Let's hope that this is only the begining and they will release an update to something like Quad band GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900) plus Tri band UMTS 2100, 1900, 850)...although that's questionable as T-Mob bid on spectrum in the 1700 AND 2100 Mhz spectrum...so could it be that the US of A will see UMTS 2100? That would give us more options in the handset department.. Let's cross our members...

Ok.... so I guess Nokia fixed the mistake. Yesterday it was still showing as Tri-band on the www.nseries.com website. One tab had tri band and the second one had quad. So looking at it and comparing to N80 they smacked a better camera into it, butterfly slider and replaced pop port and put in min jack...kudos for that but what about damn WCDMA... WHY CAN'T THEY PUT Quad band GSM / Tri Ban UMTS???? I don't want to buy a phone that I won't be able to use next year which may be the case with T-Mobile launching UMTS... God only knows what frequency they'll pick (I could only pray for 2100 Mhz which is what they bid for but they also may slam UMTS 1900)...time will show. Until then I'll be drooling over this baby.
