Nokia's N73's main feature is of course, the 3.2-megapixel camera. The camera has a Carl Zeiss auto-focus lens, which makes taking pictures a snap. The shutter works the same way as standard digital cameras, with the "auto-focus" part activating when you press the button halfway, and capturing the picture when you press it down all the way.
The other features are similarly impressive: The Nokia S60 3rd Edition OS, 3G UMTS on 2100MHz band in Europe, EDGE compatibility in the US, miniSD slot, QVGA screen, second VGA camera on the front for video conferencing over 3G networks, stereo speakers and great reception. There's three different color schemes this cellphone is available in: gray/plum, white/red, and white/mocha.
As of now, it's not available in the US, but can be purchased unlocked for use on US GSM providers.
Nokia N73 [Mobile Tech Review]

I've had one of these for 10 days now and like all true new Nokia's it's going back tomorrow for a replacement. Once again Nokia have brought out a phone without the software to support it. The memory card reader gets confused, it crashes and restarts mid call on loudspeaker or if you try to multi-task too much!
However the camera is great (the video superb), I've not seen a better cellphone screen, and it still feels, with it's malable Series 60 OS, way ahead of other phones on the market. I can still run my sat nav from it which is why it's being replaced tomorrow not swapped. I just hope it's a new firmware version I get!
A friend of mine has one of these on Vodaphone in the UK. I feel quite sick - it's an awesome phone. As an addition to Cheezwizz' comments regarding its readiness for market, the thing was so new they didn't have all the MMS protocols (or whatever they are) available for it. I also managed to crash it as soon as I touched it...but then that was kind of a familiar feeling with a Nokia. Still, tons of features and a really nice quality feel. Especially like the lense cover - far better than the solution on the SonyEricsson K800i.
Was disappointed with the Samsung D900/12.9 Ultra or whatever they're calling it now. It's uglier than the D600 I was planning to replace it with, and doesn't have the same functionality in the design (the headphones and the charger plug into the same port, so you can't use mains power and listen to the mp3 player, for example, and instead of having a sliding cover over the port it has a nasty stopper thing. Yuk). On the plus side, it has one of the most powerful ejector mechanism for the memory card slot I've ever experienced. Plenty of opportunity to lose your ultra tiny TransFlash card as it gets catapolted across the room with that one... ;-)
If you're a smartphone user and love to take photos, this phone is a godsend!
They all laughed when Nokia said they would eat up the digital camera market...
The N73 supports most every common protocol except A2DP (for Bluetooth stereo headphones).
Strange. I guess Nokia is going to eat up the audio player market a little more slowly.
This and the N93 sound incredible, better than anything you can get from the US wireless carriers, including Nokia's own new boring mid-market phones (6126, 2365i, 2865i, 6175i). How safe and easy is it to buy a GSM phone from an importer and use it with Cingular or T-Mobile?

I believe that's exactly what they did in the article the Giz linked to above? So should be ok...but best not to take my word for it, since I'm in the UK...
