In other interesting Sony news, we overheard this over the weekend—hey, bloggers go out sometimes!—that Sony's ad agency was really unsatisfied with their PS3 ads. Whenever something goes wrong, the higher ups threaten people with visits from the PS3 baby. Harsh, yet fair, we'd say.

Haha, now if only random middle-aged japanese men would show up at MY door to give me hours of play...
wait a sec...
It says "the owner does not allow video embedding".
You've got to go to the youtube page to watch it.
first time I've seen that from youtube, the googleization begins
What is the sword game that is shown in the commercial before Zelda (around the 11 second mark)? Is that Bleach?
I'm sure you didn't mean it to read that way, spatuladeity.
I like how they stress people being brought together and having a great experience.
It comes off as upbeat and fun. The white organic Rebel Alliance feel, as opposed to say, Sony's Mark III Tie Fighter black Empire kinda feel.
"Our console will be quite operational by the time launch day arrives..."
Look, all I'm trying to say is that the tighter they squeeze, the more systems will slip through their fingers...
Theres also Call of Duty 3 for Wii ad out now.
scingram: That was Red Steel if I remember right
I went back to look, but it says the video was removed by the user...ah well
Ok, so that's probably not Bleach, but in trying to confirm that I found a good movie of Bleach footage for the Wii if anyone is interested.. Too bad it is a Japaneese only game.
http://bleach.sega.jp/wii/howto/movie_2.html
Video is now MIA
The video is the MAIN AD on YouTube and it's unavailable?!!" Gaaaahhhh this is killing me!
Cool game Scingram. Weird but cool. Thanks for the link. And Youtube being unavailable for a vid? No access. Isn't that some kind of law against that? Is this some kind of Napster law in affect?
Why was it removed by the user if it was an ad?
fun ad! I'd really like to try one of these out and see if the interface is as intuitive as it looks.
And the PS3 baby link is, well, missing the link.
You can find other ads here...

nope, you cant grifter. Damn user has exceeded the CPU quota
I saw an ad on real actual TV last night (does anyone else watch it anymore?) for the Wii, the guy was playing that sword game and had his ghost sensei there making fun of him. It was not as neat as this commercial however.
I wonder if in the script when the men show up at the door their line is "Wii would like to play".
I finally saw the ad - that thing is sweet! I've never really looked into it to much cause I'm not a console man, but the Wii-mote thing is awesome.
Heh - and the PS3 has a motion sensing controller. Big deal.
Why would you want people to promote your product for free? Nintendo refuses to lose to Sony, even when the event is shooting yourself in the foot.
The PS3 has a tilt / motion sensor, but it does not have the sensor bar which allows you to use the remote as an on-screen pointer. This is what makes the Wii an excellent controller for FPS, precision targeting.
Video back up y'all. Yee HAAA!
Another Anti-Sony remark by Jason Chen. This is getting really old really fast. What kind of guy loves and praises the microsoft zune and hates on and insults anything Sony? Not the kind of guy I want reviewing gadgets or even reporting on them. Gizmodo can you please fire the lameduck! This guy is obviously biased and really has not made any valuable contributions to this site to date!
Is it just me or did anyone else notice that the wires will be getting tangled up in your hands and arms? Even the well scripted commercial made it look those wires will be annoying...
I welcome a touch of the ol' biased Gizmodo sass. It's what fuels the hate-you-now/love-you-later relationship I share with this blog. Keep Jason's biased ass on the payroll.
I hope that cord connecting the controllers is heavy duty because of all the pulling and use. Otherwise I can see the cord shorting out.
I smell a riot. Execution time!
Hey Musicfromsilence...this is a blog, not a news site. The editors' opinions are the whole point. I don't really see how Jason Chen's remarks are Anti-Sony...He's only stating the obvious as far as their ads being weird and unappealing.
I mean come on...the guy put a PS3 in his pants! How Anti-Sony can he be??
I didn't start out as an anti-SONY man, but years of shoddy products and lack of innovation have made me so.... Therefore, as far as I am concerned Jason is preaching to the masses. Keep that boy on. On the other hand if the pro-SONY folk would just ignore his comments he would probably just go away on his own...
After the disrespect associated with the root kit debacle, there should be NO limit to how Anti-Sony a consumer can be since Sony is Anti-You.

It's called Red Steel. And the commercial for that one is hilarious.

The cable holding the Wii-mote and the nunchuck controller should be longer I think. I can imagine yanking those two apart.
OMFG i can't wait for it to land in Australia!!!!
The music was so bloody good i loved it! Best ad ever so far!
