Special Glass Blocks Heat But Not Light

Researchers at University College London have developed a special coating for glass that blocks heat from the sun when temperatures rise over 29 degrees Celsius (about 85 Fahrenheit). The derivative of vanadium dioxide allows buildings to retain valuable heat from the sun when it is cold, but block the infrared light that heats things up with only one, fairly showstopping flaw - the coating, as it stands, is a yellowish green. But they're working on it.
