Siemens Kills Xelibri Fashion Phones

Xelibri8.jpg imageSiemens is killing its Xelibri fashion phone line after a year-and-a-half of lackluster sales. While Siemens unloaded 780,00 units during fiscal 2003, that number made up less than 2 percent of the company's total mobile phone sales. Siemens says it plans to continue to push style-first phones, but won't follow the original 'spring and fall lines' it originally intended with Xelibri. Gadgets can be fashion objects, but apparently most consumers aren't interested in paying premium prices for odd-looking phones with only so-so features.
