DoCoMo i-Mode FeliCa, Small Purchases With a Wave of Your Phone

TechJapan completes their three-part DoCoMo FeliCa 'BLOWOUT' coverage of the new i-Mode FeliCa service that will allow mobile phone users to pay for small purchases simply by waving their phones over sensors. Of course, to enable the new service, DoCoMo has to release new phones, and in part two of the coverage TechJapan covers those, as well. While there's not a lot of practical information for Western mobile users, services like BitWallet's "Edy" money system are sure to eventually be integrated into our communicators. Heck, if I could get a Metrocard and a debit card plugged into my phone, I could leave my wallet behind for good.
